It depends on how much of an experience you would like to create around this milestone. You can keep things refined and easy or go for “the whole shebang.”
Our Senior Portrait Experience is personalized, high-touch option. This gives us more freedom to create something distinctive around your senior's personality and interests, including:
• Tall grassy fields
• Gowns submerged in water
• Sports locations
• Farms
• Other exciting or meaningful locations
During your consultation, I'll help you to figure out the experience with the best fit for you.

A consultation is our opportunity to get to know each other a little and discover what will make your portrait experience a success. My first choice is always to meet in person at the studio. It gives us a chance to get to know one another, look at ideas together, and talk with or about your senior and what you're hoping to create. If meeting in person isn't convenient, we can also talk by phone or video call. We'll discuss clothing, locations, and other ideas that will make the session unique to you.
Your consultation is complimentary and part of your service. It can happen before you select your portrait experience (if you'd like more guidance) or after you've chosen your experience once you're ready to start refining the details. By the time portrait day arrives, everyone knows what to expect, your senior feels more comfortable, and you feel well prepared for the experience.

Hair and makeup styling is a popular addition for seniors who want a little pampering and a polished, camera-ready look. It can turn picture day into a more luxurious experience and give you a little of that celebrity photo shoot feeling before you ever step in front of the camera. This service is designed to enhance your natural features while maintaining a natural look, adding polish and definition without distracting from your natural beauty. Hair and makeup styling is complementary with most sessions

gives you the widest choice of dates and helps ensure your yearbook portrait is completed before your school's deadline. One thing many parents don't realize, especially with their first senior, is just how busy senior year becomes. Between college visits, applications, sports, activities, homecoming, prom, graduation events, and everything else that fills the calendar, schedules can become surprisingly difficult to coordinate. Getting senior portraits finished early is one less thing to worry about and allows your family to enjoy the excitement of senior year instead of trying to squeeze portraits into an already packed schedule.
Life happens. So if the school portrait date has gotten away from you, contact me and we'll work around your circumstances as best we can. Even if your school's yearbook submission deadline has passed, many families still choose to have senior portraits created to celebrate this milestone and enjoy beautiful portraits of their senior in their own home.

Approximately 1½ to 2 hours. College Graduate Portrait Experiences typically take about one hour.
The goal is to give us the time we need to create your portraits without making the experience feel rushed.

Your clothing is one of the easiest ways to bring your personality into your senior portraits. Different styles can give us a wonderful range of photographs. Here are some ideas:
• A casual dress or outfit, such as jeans, shorts, a skirt, favorite top, T-shirt, or button-down shirt
• A dressier look, such as a dress, gown, jacket, or suit and tie
• Sports uniform and equipment
• Dance attire
• Musical instruments
• Clothing or items connected to hobbies and interests
• Unique clothing or jewelry that simply feels like you
Take a look through the Senior Portrait Gallery for examples of what other seniors have worn and how different clothing photographs. No need to figure everything out yourself. This is simply a starting point. During your consultation, we'll look at your choices and figure out together what will work best for your particular session.

I highly recommend it! If you're interested in including a special animal friend in your Signature or Luxe Portrait Experience, let me know during your consultation so we can work through the logistics.

You're not alone. Many families contact me because their senior missed the days the school photographer was there. simply contact me as soon as possible. I'll do everything I can to get your senior photographed and submit the selected yearbook portrait before the school's deadline.

You can still have a senior portrait experience that's every bit as meaningful and enjoyable. Unfortunately, once a school's final yearbook deadline has passed, I can't guarantee that the school will accept another photograph. You can always contact your yearbook advisor to find out whether an exception is possible.
Whether or not the photograph can still appear in the yearbook, you can still create beautiful senior portraits to display in your home, share with family, use for graduation announcements, and enjoy long after senior year is over.
-
School portrait days are often high-volume environments, and some seniors simply photograph better when they have more time, privacy, direction, and individual attention. At Photo Jane Studios, I work one-on-one with each senior, providing posing and expression guidance to bring out their best and create genuine smiles rather than forced ones. Depending on your school's policies and deadline, it may or may not be possible to replace the photograph already submitted for the yearbook. Either way, you can still have senior portraits you genuinely love for your home, family, and graduation celebrations.
-
Yes, in most cases. The College Graduate Portrait Experience is designed around photographing in a collegiate setting. I'm happy to travel up to around 30 miles from my Forest Hill studio to photograph at your college or university. If your actual campus isn't practical, we can choose a nearby campus or similar environment that gives us the collegiate look and feeling you're after.
For a simpler graduation session photographed locally, one of the Senior Portrait Experiences can be modified to create a graduation-focused session and may be a better fit.
