• Is this a limited experience?

  Yes. The 40 Over 40 Experience is intentionally limited so each woman receives a fully personalized, unhurried experience.

  Sessions are offered in a finite number, and once available spots are filled, no additional sessions are added.

• Who is this experience for?

  This experience is for women age 40 and beyond who want more than a quick photo session.

  It’s for women who:

  • Want portraits that feel intentional and expressive

  • Have reached a time in their lives where they’re ready to be seen

  • Want to create something meaningful for themselves, or as a lasting gift

  • Have never quite felt comfortable in front of the camera, but are ready to try

  You do not need modeling experience, a specific body type, or a particular “look.” You only need to show up as yourself.

• I’m nervous. I’m not photogenic. Is this for me?

  This is especially for you.

  Most women who participate feel the same way that you do. Don’t worry, the session is fully guided, with clear direction and thoughtful pacing. You are never expected to know what to do or how to pose.

  My role is to lead the process so you can relax into it and have fun.

• Can these portraits be used for business branding or professional purposes?

  Yes. Many women choose to incorporate professional or personal branding portraits into their 40 Over 40 Experience.

  If you’re a small business owner, professional, or simply want updated images for platforms like LinkedIn, a website, or networking materials, we can plan looks that serve both personal and professional goals within the same session.

  Just let me know during your consultation so we can design the session intentionally.

• Can these portraits be used for personal branding, such as dating profiles?

  Absolutely.

  Some women choose to include portraits intended for personal branding, including dating profiles. If this is something you’d like to incorporate, we can plan images that feel natural, expressive, and approachable rather than overly posed or formal.

  The goal is always to create images that feel like you.

• What is included in the 40 Over 40 Experience?

  Your experience includes:

  • A pre-session consultation to plan styling, mood, and vision

  • A fully guided portrait session at Photo Jane Studios

  • Professional, camera-ready hair and makeup styling for one person

  • Access to the private 40 Over 40 Facebook group

  • Opportunities to connect with other participating women

  • You will return to the studio for your reveal and purchasing appointment, where you’ll view your portraits and make your final selections

  Each experience is customized so it feels personal, thoughtful, and supportive.

• How much does the 40 Over 40 Experience cost?

  The experience begins at $690, which includes:

  • A $190 artist fee

  • A $500 portrait credit applied toward your images or artwork

  Portraits are purchased separately and are $250 each, which includes:

  • A professionally matted 8×10 fine art print

  • The matching high-resolution digital image

  Your portrait credit may be applied toward individual portraits, collections, albums, or wall art.

• Are hair and makeup included?

  Yes. Professional hair and makeup styling is included for one person and is part of the experience.

  This is camera-ready makeup, specifically designed to contour, highlight, and enhance features for professional portrait photography under studio lighting. The result is a polished, confident, camera-ready look that still feels like you.

• What should I wear?

  Before your session, you’ll have a dedicated styling consultation so you feel completely prepared when the day arrives.

  We’ll talk through clothing, colors, textures, silhouettes, and the overall feeling you want your portraits to convey. You don’t need a new wardrobe, just thoughtful planning.

• Can I include multiple looks or outfits?

  Yes, and you’re encouraged to do so.

  Most women bring several outfits to reflect different moods and sides of their personality, such as soft and natural, confident and bold, artistic and expressive, or classic and refined.

  We’ll plan your outfit choices together in advance so the session flows smoothly.

• What happens after the session?

  After your session, you’ll return to the studio for your reveal and purchasing appointment, where you’ll see your portraits for the first time.

  During this appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase what you love, whether that’s individual portraits, collections, albums, or wall art. I’ll guide you through the process so it feels easy, fun, and exciting.

• Do I have to make my purchase at the reveal appointment?

  Yes. Your reveal appointment is also your purchasing appointment. All selections and purchases are made at that time.

• Is any part of the 40 Over 40 Experience tax deductible?

  If you are using your portraits for business or professional branding purposes, some or all of your purchase may be tax deductible.

  Because tax situations vary, it’s best to consult with your accountant to determine what applies to you.

• Why do women do this for themselves?

  Women do this because something has shifted.
